Rackmaster Fall Deluxe Food Plot Seed Mix

Rackmaster® deluxe fall mixture contains many annual grasses mixed with annual legumes for attracting deer, quail, and turkey. These fall mixes are regionally developed to provide the best plantings your money can buy for your area. These cool season plots are important to help your deer herd build up the carbohydrates needed as stored fat to survive the harsh winter months. Maintaining good body condition through the rut and the winter stress season will mean the difference in your overall management program. Arrowleaf clover and/or Crimson clover, wheat, oats, and Austrian winter peas are just a few of the ingredients usually included in the regionally developed Rackmaster® mixtures.

Contents & How to Plant Rackmaster® Deluxe Fall Food Plot Seed Mix

USE FOR DEER & WILDLIFE FOOD PLOTS this food plot seed mixture is creates a food plot that is attractive to many types of wildlife, including turkey, deer, rabbit and quail.

Deluxe Fall Food Plot Mix Contains:*

• 45% Wheat
• 35% Winter grazer Rye
• 10% Oats
• 5% Dixie Crimson Clover
• 5% Austrian Winter Field Peas

*Mixture varieties and/or % subject to change. Percentages will be slightly less due to inert material in mixture.

Planting Information For Rackmaster Fall Deluxe

Planting Dates: September through November (Depending on location).
Planting Rate: 50 LBS. Per 1/2 acre
Planting Depth: 1/4 inch. --- Game mix germinates in 7-10 days.

Method: Prepare a firm, smooth seed bed by plowing and dragging the planting area. Broadcast seed and drag to cover no more than 1 inch deep. You need to select sites that are well drained, but still have good water holding capacity. The site should have at least 50% sunlight. With small plots, try and plant long and narrow (North / South) strips so as to allow in more light. Fertilize using a good fertilize at 450 lbs. acre. Apply lime as needed.


Fertility: Apply Pennington Wildlife Food Plot Fertilizer 8-12-12 at a rate of 400 lbs./acre or 10 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. Follow the directions on the bag for subsequent applications. This fertilizer is specially formulated for wildlife food plots as well as native and natural vegetation. It is made up of slow release nitrogen fertilizer that will last for months. It has all the major and minor nutrients your plants will need such as iron, zinc, boron, and many more. In addition, it contains dolomite palletized limestone to aid in neutralizing acidic soils.
