CUTTING EDGE INITIATE
You can put salt blocks on your property, but you won’t be
doing your deer any favors. Salt lacks nutritional value and forces deer to
drink too much water, which takes up valuable stomach capacity. Mineral licks
tend to be jazzed-up salt blocks, and deer don’t care for them during certain
parts of the year anyway. If you really want to enhance your deer’s natural
diet, and supplement the nutrients bucks utilize to reach their genetic
potential and grow heavy racks, you need complete, balanced nutritional
supplements. You need Cutting Edge!
The Seasonal Supplement System
With three special formulas, each developed around the nutritional needs for
different times of the year, Cutting Edge enhances your deer's natural diet 365
days a year. The section below tells you when and why to use Cutting Edge
Initiate, Optimize, and Sustain. As a total balance system, Cutting Edge Helps
your herd achieve what they're capable of… from sound health to super racks!
Late Winter/ Early Spring
Start Initiate in late Winter and provide it until the emergence of green
vegetation….
A buck starts growing his antlers before nutrient-rich green vegetation emerges
in the spring. Initiate contains a combination of protein, energy, minerals and
vitamins (along with other ingredients) that deer can utilize for body condition
and early antler development.
Spring/Summer
Switch to Optimize in mid to late Spring… Forages in most parts of North America
lack essential nutrients required for optimal antler development. Optimize
supplements the deer’s natural diet with minerals, vitamins and 16% protein… all
nutrients that contribute to antler growth. Continue providing Optimize
throughout the summer months…
Fall/Winter
Switch to Sustain in the Fall… In the fall, switching to Sustain helps get bucks
through the rigors of the rut and benefits all deer in the cold winter months.
Sustain is formulated to help reduce lost body weight and help overall health
during rut and cold winter months. If body weight is well maintained when
spring arrives, bucks can use their nutrients growing antlers instead of
rebuilding their bodies.
