About The Grass Plug Varieties We Sell   Bermuda Grass - Centipede Grass - St. Augustine Grass - Zoysia Grass The grass plugs we sell are primarily adapted to areas of the Southern USA states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Some species or varieties may not be suitable for use in states with colder winter climates. Use our grass plug guide to help determine which grass plug varieties are best adapted for your area. Another good source of information will be your local cooperative extension agent. The only plug grass species we sell that is suitable for planting in colder locations is Zoysia. Establishing time for plugged lawns will depend on the time of year when your plugs are planted along with the variety, climate, spacing, soil type and care. Generally it can take anywhere from one to three years to fully establish a lawn from plugs. Seedland also has seeds available for Bermuda, Centipede and Zoysia, however at this time it is not possible to grow seeds for St. Augustine grasses. All orders ship as 2 trays per each order. As seen in the picture to the left here, each 3" X 3" grass plug is in it's individual section of the larger tray. Our grass plugs are still growing in soil when you receive your order. Please read the following shipping notice before you place your grass plug order.   IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT WHERE WE SHIP GRASS PLUGS: Due to state agricultural regulations on the importation of soils, we do NOT ship Grass Plugs to these states: Arizona, California, Oregon, Nevada & Washington. We currently do not ship plugs outside of the USA mainland States (No shipments to Hawaii, Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam or Alaska). There are no restrictions on seeds shipped to these states. Shipment Dates: Our grass plugs ship February through May on every Monday for all orders placed the previous week by 10 am EST on Friday. Orders placed after 10 am Friday morning will be scheduled to ship a week later. Occasionally shipments may be delayed due to weather issues (heavy rain results in plugs too wet to ship). Since we ship plug orders ASAP after they are placed, please order only when you are ready to plant. *Note (Summer Shipments): We do not ship grass plugs during the Summer months of July, August and the first half of September.
