Reel Mowers - Eco Friendly Lawn MowingReel Mower - NaturCut Classic

Reel mowers cut your grass much the same as you would trim your house plants, for maximum sun exposure. Turf grass grows by forming a dense, interwoven network of leaf blades that reside just above soil level. This interwoven pattern of grass growth is an essential element of turf grass's natural ability to retain moisture and overcome weeds. Besides the obvious benefits to your lawn, reel mowers are eco-friendly as they use no fossil fuels - just manpower.

Reel Mowers cut with a scissor type action that heals quickly causing minimal growth pattern disturbance. A reel mower cuts the grass in place, reducing the vertical height but leaving the grass with blades of varied lengths for maximum sun exposure. The roller on reel mowers stimulates the growth pattern and if desired, the clippings may be re-cycled back into the lawn as a compost providing nutrients to your lawn.

Large Lawns & Reel Mowers

We recommend using the push reel mower for lawns of 10,000 square feet or less. Because of the effort required, we do not recommend using manual push reel mowers for large lawns.

St. Augustine and Zoysia Lawns
Most push reel mowers will do a fine job on new St. Augustine Grass which has been cut to 1 inch and does not have thatch. Push reel mowers do not do well on Zoysia.

Bermuda Lawns & Reel Mowers*

Most manual push reel mowers are not recommended for cutting Bermuda grass because Bermuda grass is too thick and dense. The Easun NaturCut Ideal 40 is an exception, please see product details for more information.
